Hippy Popcorn! Popcorn with Nutritional Yeast and Tamari

Prep Time 5 minutes | Total Time 10 minutes

Heart Healthy and Rich in b12

This is my favorite snack and I call it “hippy corn” because my hippy friends taught me how to make it when I was seeing a lot of Grateful Dead Concerts. Popcorn is a whole grain snack that is hearth healthy- the nutritional yeast adds a cheesy flavor and a boost of vitamin b12.

Ingredients

  • Popcorn

  • Nutritional Yeast

  • Bragg’s Liquid Aminos or Tamari/ Soy Sauce

  • Optional- Franks Hot Sauce

Instructions

  1. Pop your popcorn- I always use an old school oil popper because it tastes better

  2. Sprinkle nutritional yeast onto the popcorn as you empty it into a bowl- do this in layers

  3. CAREFULLY shake some Bragg’s Liquid Aminos/Tamari or Soy Sauce onto your popcorn - don’t saturate it!

  4. Mix well with your hands or salad tongs

  5. Taste it! The tamari and nutritional yeast should coat the popcorn

  6. ** Optional! Do you love hot sauce? Sprinkle some Franks Red Hot Sauce onto your popcorn and mix- Enjoy!

Notes :

If you add a bit of melted margarine onto your popcorn right after it pops it will be extra delicious. Experiment- sometimes I only use the nutritional yeast and or only use the nutritional yeast with hot sauce and salt. Happy snacking ~peace and love.
